Western Region Health is introducing PILATES classes in July 2013!
Pilates is a great way to improve flexibility, improve posture and build strength for people of all ages and abilities. Specific floor based exercises and spring resisted equipment will be used to train the body's deep postural and 'core' muscles.
It is also beneficial for general health and fitness, and can be a rehabilitation tool for improving injuries. Balance, control and core strength can all be improved. Pilates can also be done pre and post natal.
When will Pilates start?
Introductory classes will commence in July.
The initial introductory class will be one-one based and will be designed to familiarize you with the Pilates apparatus. During this class your ability and injuries will be assessed to allow us to design a personalized program.
You will be ready to participate in group classes after this introductory class.
The 10 week weekly classes will commence in the first week of August.
How many people per class?
There will be a maximum of 4 people to one instructor per class. Class sizes are kept small with a focus on individual needs being catered to.
